In this 1-hour PCIT CE Program, Certified PCIT Global Trainers (Dr. Cathy Roring and Danielle Campbell) provide in-depth discussion about the homework portion of PCIT (often referred to as Special Time) and how to set up caregivers for success. This program demonstrates how to use PCIT skills with over 25 toys, and how to select toys based on a child’s age and developmental ability. This program also provides tips on how to use weekly homework sheets as a tool to help families overcome common barriers to daily homework completion. Learning Objectives: At the end of this program, you should be able to: 1) Describe at least 4 toys that are appropriate for children 2-4 years of age 2) Explain at least 2 reasons why artistic toys are great for PCIT 3) Describe at least 2 reasons why parents are discouraged from using board games during Special Time 4) Explain the Who, What, When, Where, Why method to increase the likelihood of Special Time success 5) Describe at least 2 ways the weekly homework sheet can be used as a tool for Special Time
