About
Dr. Shannon Bennett is a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed School Psychologist, and Certified PCIT Global Trainer who has been practicing since 2014. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of California – Berkeley, with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. Dr. Bennett obtained her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in School Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As part of this program, she completed a yearlong APA-Accredited Internship at the Florida State University Multidisciplinary Center (MDC), where she received supervised training experiences in comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for autism spectrum disorders and attention disorders, individual and group therapy to address a variety of childhood mental health concerns, and traditional school psychology services.

Following the completion of her internship and postdoctoral residency at the MDC, Dr. Bennett remained on staff as a psychologist. In addition to continuing to provide comprehensive neurodevelopmental diagnostic evaluations for preschool through school-age children and youth, Dr. Bennett regularly sees families for Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) both in person and via iPCIT. She has also received extensive training in the Program for the Educational and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) program, specializing in supporting families with teens on the autism spectrum and with social skills challenges. Outside of providing direct services to children, schools, and families, Dr. Bennett’s role includes supervision and consultation. She supervises Ed.S. practicum students, doctoral-level psychology students, and interns in our APA-Accredited internship; teaches the second-year Ed.S. School Psychology Practicum course; and provides consultation to therapists seeking certification in PCIT.
