About

In this 1-hour PCIT CE Program, Certified PCIT Global Trainers (Dr. Shannon Bennett and Katie Smith, LCSW) focus on coding in the Parent Directed Interaction (PDI) Phase of PCIT therapy. This program begins with a brief explanation on how to correctly complete a PDI coding sheet. Next, participants will code a five-minute video and check their coding reliability. Afterwards, trainers guide participants through the video, discuss each command, and provide tips/strategies to improve PDI coding reliability. Learning Objectives: At the end of this program, you should be able to: 1) Describe when to conduct PDI coding in PCIT therapy. 2) Explain the specific criteria needed to achieve PDI mastery. 3) Describe at least 2 tools needed to accurately code caregiver-child interactions in PDI. 4) Explain how to accurately code correct follow-through in the command sequence. 5) Explain at least one similarity and one difference between CDI and PDI coding.
