About

In this 1-hour PCIT CE Program, Certified PCIT Global Trainers (Dr. Christopher Campbell and Amber Brick, LCSW) provide specific strategies to elevate your Child Directed Interaction (CDI) coaching skills. This program is specially designed for therapists in their first years of conducting PCIT services. Participants will learn how to utilize a “CDI Coaching Pyramid” to guide coaching statements, “scaffolding” coaching techniques to assist caregivers with achieving CDI mastery, coaching “drills” to increase the frequency of specific PRIDE skills, and coaching strategies for older children. Learning Objectives: At the end of this program, you should be able to: 1) Describe at least 2 locations where PCIT therapists can conduct CDI coaching sessions. 2) Explain how to utilize at least 3 CDI coaching techniques on the CDI Coaching Pyramid. 3) Describe at least 2 ways to successfully implement CDI coaching “drills.” 4) Explain the difference between “scaffolding” and “shotgun” coaching in CDI. 5) Describe at least 1 way to tailor CDI coaching for use with older children.
